Assistant Professor Signe E. Cremer

DVM, PhD

Dr. Signe E. Cremer is a veterinary graduate from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2005 and from Iowa State University (USA) in 2007.  After working three years in small animal practice in the USA, she returned to Denmark and obtained her PhD degree in Veterinary and Animal Sciences from the University of Copenhagen in 2014.

She is presently employed at the University of Copenhagen as Assistant Professor in veterinary clinical pathology. In 2016 she obtained an individual postdoc grand from the Danish Council for Independent Research (DFF), including a DFF Sapere Aude young researcher talent award. She will from 2017 engage in the post-doc position within veterinary hemostasis and thrombosis, including a 2-year collaboration at Cornell University (USA). Dr. Cremer’s primary research focus considers platelet pathophysiology including assaying of platelet function and platelet microparticles. She moreover engages in research within analytical test validation and implementation of veterinary paraclinical biomarkers.

As part of her present position, Dr. Cremer regularly engages in the laboratory duties within veterinary clinical pathology and has in 2016 obtained a one-year university pedagogy-teaching degree. She participates in year round teaching activities, including primarily basic principles of clinical pathology, hematology, cytology and analytical test validation.

On the programme Dr. Cremer will participate in the lecturing in the Internal Medicine module on the compulsory part of the Master's programme and on the Internal Medicine specialisation track.
