We are proud to have the opportunity to present such a distinguished and prestigious international surgeon and lecturer as Dr. Kyle G. Mathews to the Masters programme. With over two decades of experience from State of The Art veterinary surgical facilities and an extensive publication portfolio, Dr. Kyle G. Mathews is one of the most experienced surgeons and researches in his field of interest.

Dr. Kyle Mathews has been and will participate in the teaching of the Surgery Specialisation Track in Soft Tissue and Cancer Surgery modules of the Master of Companion Animal Clinical Science, with emphasis on gastrointestinal, urological and thoracic soft tissue surgery.

Background

Dr. Kyle Mathews is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and currently Professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery Section, at the North Carolina State University (NCSU) College of Veterinary Medicine. 

He received his DVM from University of Wisconsin, completed a rotating internship at University of Pennsylvania, and a Small Animal Surgical Residency with a Master’s Degree at University of Minnesota. 

He was a clinical instructor at the University of California, Davis for five years prior to joining NCSU in 1997, where he is the Small Animal Surgery Residency Program Director.

He has served on the Veterinary Surgery Editorial Board and has been a Soft Tissue Surgery Section Editor for the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association

His research centers on the investigational aspects and development of minimal to non-invasive alternatives to current treatment modalities (surgical techniques, drug delivery methods and biomedical implants).
