Nicki Reed

We have the great pleasure of presenting Dr. Nicki Reed, as a lecturer at the Masters programme. 

Dr. Nicki Reed will participate in the teaching of the Internal Medicine modules at the specialisation track of the Master of Companion Animal Clinical Science.

Background

Nicki qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1988. She initially worked as a general practitioner in mixed and small animal practice. From 2004-2007 Nicola was manager of the Dick Vet Small Animal Practice, The University of Edinburgh after which she completed a residency in feline and internal medicine before being appointed Lecturer in Internal Medicine in 2010. In 2013 she became Head of the Feline Clinic (The University of Edinburgh) and promoted to Senior Lecturer in Internal Medicine. In 2015 Nicki moved south to become Internal Medicine Specialist at Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists, Alton.

Nicki obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Radiology (Cert VR) in 2000 and the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (Cert SAM) in 2004. She became a RCVS Diplomate in Small Animal Medicine (Feline) in 2008 and an ECVIM-CA Diploma holder in Internal Medicine in 2009. Nicki has published a large amount of peer reviewed papers and has contributed as an author to several different textbooks like August' Consultations in Feline Medicine and the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Endocrinology. She has also been an examiner for the RCVS Certificates in Small Animal Medicine and Advanced Veterinary Practitioner.
